beware incomplete directions
If you follow the directions to a t, you will end up with 4 large black washers and the machine will fall apart the first time you use it.In disassembling/reassembling it corrrectly this time, I wore off almost all of the lube grease and can now look forward to one doing it again.

Great elliptical!
Definitely recommend this elliptical! Assembly was a breeze, and the thing performs great, no squeaks or rattles, smooth operation, nice screen, lots of features.

Nice Machine
Fretted over machines for about two weeks but after reviewing this site and trying out a few different machines at the big boxes I decided to go with the Schwinn 431. Some of the machines at the stores claimed to have an 18 inch stride but they were very restrictive. The Schwinn is very comfortable, has good resistance and it’s small footprint fits exactly where I want it. I’m 5′10″ and it fits me great.
Except for one bolt that was a pain in the butt the machine went together very nicely. I’m not very mechanically inclined but I followed the directions and took my time and in about two hours I was moving.
As far as the Heart rate monitor goes. Anytime you check someone’s heart rate you count for at least thirty seconds and then multiply by two. This machine is no different. It is simply scrolling through numbers while it is counting. I notice that the average heart rate at the end of the workout is fairly accurate while during the workout it’s all over the place. Do not rely on this feature. Learn to take your own pulse and consult with your Doctor as to what your target heart rate should be. That would be the only true measure of your actual rate.
Other than that the machine is great. I greased all the right moving parts with some spray white lithium grease. Even the ones that were already lubed up. There is still some noise but when you stop and think about it, it is a machine with moving parts there is bound to be some noise.
I am a true nobody who is just trying to lose some weight and have fun doing it and the Schwinn so far has been exactly what I needed. I just thought I’d put in my two cents and let people know that I’m happy with my machine and I hope those of you who buy this have the same luck and good fortune as I have had.

Scgwinn 430 Elliptical trainer review
Ordering the elliptical was uncomplicated! Assembly was uncomplicated!!
Delivery arrangements were excellent!!! All in all I would recommend buying the product through Amazon!!!!

Would NOT recommend!
I purchased the Schwinn 430 elliptical the end of February. I wanted to get “fit” before my vacation May 9th. Well too bad after 1 month, the machine started making the loudest screeching noise you’ve ever heard! I called Schwinn (you actually call Nautilus)and we had to try to do a phone diagnosis. The rep then said that I needed a complete new wheel assembly and that a technician would call me to make an appt to come to my home to replace in about one week. Well, it’s been 10 days so I called again. Now the rep says, “No the technician only comes after all the parts are delivered to your house, and your parts are on backorder until the middle of May.” Great!! No one would have contacted me to let me know, and now the machine is basically useless to me. So much for getting “fit” before vacation. Very bad customer service with Nautilus, she wasn’t even apologetic at all. I would not purchase this item!!

I love this elliptical
This is an amazing elliptical and I got it for a great price. I am a physically fit female about 150 lbs and this machine really does the trip for those days you just want to stay in instead of hitting the gym.

Pros: quiet, multiple settings, gives me a great workout, solid construction, doesn’t wiggle when aggressively using it

Cons: the instructions are horrible - they mislabeled all the parts and I ended up having to figure out how to put everything together myself. Sometimes it makes a squeaking sound - seems to be coming from the part where the peddles meet the track.

Junk!
I bought this joy stick to use with X-Plane on my macbook pro. There is nothing in the box that talks about mac although on the outside of the box it say mac. The included software is for windows only. Logitech web site says they do not support mac but this item works with the mac. There are no instructions in the box or on the web site for the mac other than to say something like plug and play. For someone (like me) that is not familiar with gaming and joy sticks this product is lacking and appears to be junk. I see that another reviewer is using it on a mac without problems so I guess it will work.

Poor construction — Bad software
Summary: This joystick is junk. Spend a little more money and buy something better. Although it has a great feel, the hardware is of the lowest quality. They don’t last and are constantly loosing calibration. Furthermore, the certain features like the throttle slider, never work properly (full throttle on the joystick doesn’t make full throttle in the game). Also, the software is poor. Both the drivers and their task-tray application are sub-standard. Looks like Logitech outsourced everything about this joystick. Cheap junk!

Pro Joy Stick
Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick. Easy to install and adjust to the my Flight Simulator soft wear. One problem I have is the pitch trim control which may be the soft wear or the joystick. The pitch trim is not real world.
